From your point of view, why this farm is interesting to be followed in R4D ?

The farmers are young, motivated and eager to innovate continuously. They are expanding the herd and the farm itself, with the aim of increasing milk production while maintaining good animal welfare and waste management. Also make important investments in order to achieve more sustainable livestock farming.

Technical issues involved on this farm

New facilities, allowing for better batch management, improved animal welfare and better waste management. Milking robots and a digital management program that allows to digitalize all the indicators of interest, so they can obtain a precise vision of the situation of the farm (and cows). also have concentrate dispensing machines, optimizing the amount needed per cow

Environment, animal welfare and society friendly production systems

High animal welfare: new facilities with well-dimensioned cubicles, good ventilation, tools to avoid heat stress and good hygienic-sanitary measures. Acquisition of a self-loading wagon for a better management and quality of forage collection. New large pit, avoiding disproportionate slurry extraction and achieving a good slurry management. Cultivation of own fodder crops for cow feeding.
